"Ain't Easy" , the fifth song release under Henry Invisible will be available everywhere in 23 days on Feb 3!!

Some liner notes about the song... It was around 3:23 am March 2020, the lockdown had just been announced Worldwide at the beginning of the pandemic. I coped with the news that all of my Spring and Summer tour plans basically vanished with the only artistic outlet that has always been there for me... my music.

I remember that night starting rehearsal/ practice around 11pm in the studio, I was soul-searching for some new sounds and began to experiment with looping different textures of organic sounds.... beatbox sounds, claps, recording from far corners of my studio... that sort of thing. After a few different groove ideas and jam sessions a song came from deep inside... the song immediately had a chorus and I went with it.

I wanted the song to be a call and response between a person and the soul having a conversation about how confusing life had become so quickly and the soul responding back with, "No one said it's easy". This is where, and I sincerely mean when I say, the music began to write itself. It's happened to me in the past and I absolutely embrace these moments. ✨

Fast forward to October 2022... I was clearing my studio of some older gear to make room for new pieces and made the decision that I would pass along one of my studio loop pedals to market. However, before I put any piece of recording gear for sale, I make sure I'm not giving it away with any of my original material. I decided to check this pedal's memory bank and there it was.... a healing song from a strange time, "Ain't Easy" dated 3/ 2020.

I had completely forgotten about the song... times had changed, distractions had emerged, many new songs had been written; yet there was something about it that I felt needed to be shared with the World... because we all experienced those moments at that time... at many times throughout life. What now? What next? Where are we?

Quickly after I rediscovered the tune, I decided to complete and re-record the song with some finalized arrangement and full-instrumentation without taking away from the original rawness of the track... and that is what I'm going to share with all of you on Friday, February 3 2023.

"Ain't Easy"... a different side of my music that I'm excited to share... because in the end music, in my humble opinion, should make you feel something and inspire in all sorts of ways... sometimes the message is clear and sometimes it's left for the listener to interpret... this song is both. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed recording it! All the love and best wishes in the New Year to all of YOU!
